For those who are renewing their ACLS certification:

ACLS is based on simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students will practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader. Realistic simulations reinforce the following key concepts: proficiency in basic life support care; recognizing and initiating early management of peri-arrest conditions; managing cardiac arrest; identifying and treating ischemic chest pain and acute coronary syndromes; recognizing other life threatening clinical situations (such as stroke) and providing initial care; ACLS algorithms; and effective resuscitation team dynamics.

The course is designed for medical providers such as physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency.

An alternative to classroom-based ACLS training, HeartCodeTM ACLS is a self-paced, comprehensive eLearning course. The course includes interactive patient cases that test students’ ability to apply the ACLS algorithms to effect treatment. The full course combines the web-based lessons with advanced CPR skills training.
For the healthcare team, the course offers:
• standardized ACLS instruction
• improved competency
• cost savings through less time away from the job

Please Note: Students must complete the online part of the course before completing the skills session.

HeartCode PALS provides computer-based lessons that uses eSimulation technology so students “virtually” assess and formulate treatment for pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest patients. Students complete 12 interactive hospital-based cases that test their ability to apply the PALS algorithms to effect treatment.

Students receive step-by-step feedback through debriefing on actions taken and suggestions for improvement. This course also includes a pre-course self-assessment of ECG recognition and pharmacology knowledge.

The complete course combines the online lessons with hands-on skills practice and skills testing with a Voice Assisted Manikin.

The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation.

For healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course. This would also include nursing students, EMT students and anyone that is interested in becoming a BLS Instructor.

This course meets the Dental Board of California's requirements for 4 units of continuing education.

Basic Life Support Renewal course is for students who have current BLS cards that will be expiring. Students will be required to show proof of BLS certificate upon arrival for course. The BLS Renewal course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

In this program, students complete the cognitive portion (Part 1) of BLS for Healthcare Providers training through a series of self-paced online modules. Students answer short multiple-choice questions within case-based scenarios, and receive feedback based on their answers, to proceed through 10 critical checkpoints. This course provides access to 21 optional review sections, including 17 videos from the BLS for Healthcare Providers video, which reinforce the adult, child and infant CPR sequences taught in the course.

The skills check will be completed in-person with a Voice Assisted Manikin.

The Heartsaver CPR Course teaches CPR and relief of choking in adults and children and infant CPR, and use of barrier devices for all ages.

For those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. This would include teachers, fitness trainers and coaches.

(Healthcare Providers, including Nursing and EMT Students, please register for BLS for Healthcare Providers.)
